I went to watch "The Incredibles" today. Wow. One of the best times I have had at the movies in a while. I liked the previous Pixar films but I LOVE this one. You owe it to yourself to go watch this immediately.

On another note, I have been making lots of juice with our new Breville Juicer. It is awesome. Fresh Fuji Apple juice - OMG. Fresh tomato juice - OMG. Now that we have a juicer, we don't have to be afraid of buying tons of fruits and vegetables at Costco. If we feel that we can not use them before they spoil, we make juice. Mmmm.

We had a GREAT time during Halloween. We ended up going to a Hollywood club and people went ALL-OUT with their costumes. I love it! I will never stop dressing up.

Next year, I will either be RamVo or Vo-Nan the Barbarian. You think I am joking don't you? Silly people.

Went to Knott's Scary Farm's Halloween Haunt last night. I don't care what anyone says...I still love the place. Apparently, so do other people as the event was SOLD OUT. I even bought a t-shirt this year and I am going to wear the crap out of it.

We went to the VIP dinner and so they let us into the park 30 minutes early. We were able to get the Log Ride, Mine Ride, and an awesome maze called The Asylum finished before they opened the main gates. Woot!!

I've added some pictures to the Vo-Plex section. I am currently working on a new layout for it. The section should be pretty cool when I am done as it will have personal reviews of all my equipment. After all, it's my opinion that counts right? Until then, enjoy the new pictures!

I just finished calibrating my new receiver, the Denon AVR-3805S. It rocks! Seriously, the surround separation and audio quality is awesome. I was afraid that it was going to be too 'warm' sounding like all the Denons I have heard in the past but this one is crisp and bright - not as bright as the Outlaw Audio 1050 I had but that is a good thing.

Next step? The Denon DVD-3910 DVD player in Silver. I am taking donations since this puppy is $1299 MSRP. It costs $100 more than the receiver. Can you believe that? Me still wants it so bads.

I am looking to buy a new cordless phone. My Siemens 2420 Gigaset phone sucks. The only reason I have kept it is because it can forward distinctive ring calls to my PC for answering modem/fax calls.

However, I have just purchased a Comswitch 5500 Distinctive Ring Manager so I am no longer tied to any particular phone. F-off Siemens! In any case, I have really been eyeing the Uniden TRU-8888 phone system. It looks PIMP!

If you haven't seen Shogun's Samurai yet, you are the sucks. I was the sucks until tonight. I can't believe I never saw it before. Intrigue, betrayal, suspense, action, love - this movie has it all. You owe it to yourself to watch it immediately.

It stars Sonny Chiba, Toshiro Mifune, and Hiroyuki Sanada! How awesome is that?

Remember the Matrix Ping-Pong video from a while back? Well, here is a commercial using the same 'Human Wire-Fu' techniques. Awesome! Thanks to TankzBankz.

We just got back from our Caribbean Cruise. We went on Celebrity Cruise line's Century and it was a great time. Stopped by San Juan Puerto Rico, St. Thomas Virgin Islands, St. Marten, and Nassau Bahamas. Check out the pictures.

I am getting very excited. We leave for our Caribbean cruise next Wednesday. Since this is our first cruise, I have been doing all kinds of research on excursions and activities. However, Shark Week was on the Discovery channel a few of weeks ago and I watched it all. Dumb move.

We had a GREAT time at Mozy's 30th Birthday party. I was able to get my Game of Death tracksuit and all is well in the world. Check out the pics.

Just got back from watching The Bourne Supremacy. I thought it kicked ass! Lots of action and style. Some people may complain about the "handicam" type of filming, but I liked it. We also happened to see it at the "Dome" in the Arclight Theaters in Hollywood. I have to say, the ArcLight is just a top-notch theater when it comes to sound systems.

I've been using these Sony MDR-EX71SL Fontopia Earbuds for a few weeks now and have to say that I love them. The rubber ear pieces are super-comfortable (they include 3 different sizes) and they sound great. I was using the Seinheiser MX-500 earbuds before this and they would hurt my ears after 15 minutes or so.

Just got back from watching the Open Water premiere. It is about this couple who are scuba diving and their expedition boat takes off, leaving them behind. They are stuck out in the middle of shark-infested waters. Very awesome, very stressful, and very tense. That describes the movie. You must go see!

Some person was just Googling around and came across my site, read about the trouble I was having finding a Game of Death jumpsuit, and sent me a link on where to buy an awesome one. That is so cool - strangers helping strangers!

On another note, KG and I watched the Zatoichi remake the other day starring Beat Takeshi. It was freaking cool! Can't wait till this movie comes out on DVD since we missed the first 20 minutes. Don't ask. OK, we went swimming and then took a 5 minute nap which turned into an hour nap, that is why we were late. Bleh. But swimming is so fun!

I have been combing the web and the streets of Chinatown Los Angeles trying to find a yellow tracksuit like the one Bruce Lee wore in The Game of Death. Who knew it would be so hard? Guess I'll be having one custom-made.

I watched SpiderMan 2 with Kristen tonight. It was awesome. We watched it at a new theater, which is a big deal because I am pretty snobby when it comes to visual and sound quality. This one sounded great and the picture wasn't bad either. Yay!

Something really cool happened to me this weekend. I met my Dad. When my family and I immigrated from Vietnam in 1975, he had to stay behind due to his position in the military. At the time, I was a little over 2 years old and Linda was less than a year old so we had no memory of him while growing up. It was fine, how can you miss what you don't remember?

At the airport, I saw the profile of a man I had no recollection of ever having seen and yet I knew immediately that he was my father. Strange world. Over the next five days, my indifference to him melted away, and what I am left with now is this exquisite feeling. A void inside me, which I never knew I had, was filled. He is the coolest man I have ever met.

Cheers to all the Dads in the world!

Kristen LOVES to print photographs. So I bought her a Canon I960 Photo Printer. This photo printer is amazingly fast and the prints are unbelievable. You can't even tell that they didn't come from a photo lab. Of course, you have to use Canon paper for best results but I'm cool with that. I have tried the HPs and the Epsons and I HIGHLY recommend the Canon I960 over them all.

We also purchased a Casio Exilim Z40 digital camera. This thing is tiny but the screen is HUGE. The picture quality is pretty darn nice too! On top of that, you can film movies with sound! 320 X 240 at 15 FPS, but the results are surprisingly good. Paris who? *snicker*

OMG, Wha Happen?!?

I finally redesigned my site. I wanted to build it completely using CSS2 so that I could separate content from structure. I mean, you have to keep up with The Jones right? Even if they are 15-year-old, acne-face, programming gurus. Bleh, I'm not bitter.

Of course, CSS doesn't allow me to do a lot of the things I can do using tables for layout so...I am using tables. Hah! At least I am using CSS for all markups. When more browsers support the full functionality of CSS, I'll switch over completely. Until then...Welcome to Vo-Man.com (again).
