Why
the hell does Guy Pierce look like a monkey in this adaptation of
H.G. Wells' The
Time Machine? No matter, I still enjoyed it. The picture quality
was OK but the sound was great! I really enjoyed the special effects
and the concept of how the Time Machine itself traveled through
time. It was pretty darn cool. I won't give it away for ya. What
made this movie really enjoyable to me is that nobody overacted.
They all played their parts and no one tried to show-boat. Very
refreshing.

Just installed Windows XP Professional on my machine. So far, so good. Everything seems to be running faster. The main reason I installed it was because I was getting sick of Counter-Strike locking up on me due to the VIA/Creative conflicts. The problem is, I haven't been able to play CS long enough to see if XP has solved my problems. It has created another one though.
Now when I play CS, the mouse acts all weird. It seems like mouse acceleration is enabled no matter what I do. When I move my mouse slowly in CS, the my view moves very slowly; when I move my mouse quickly, my view moves very quickly. This means that either I aim very slowly when trying to make precise movements, or I make 270 degree turns when flicking my mouse the same distance. ARGH!! Gonna take me a while to get used to this.

Fist
of the White Lotus cracked my shit up when I saw it in theaters
as a little kid. Never before had I seen such blatant nut-grabbing.
Add "Embroidery style" girl kung fu to the mixture while
having it performed by Gordon Liu, the Master Killer himself, and
you have a recipe for downright kung fu fun! But seriously, so much
nut-grabbing! I tried to grab Kristen's nuts after I watched this,
and was glad to be reminded that she has none.

I
am truly embarassed to say that I had never watched Invincible
Pole Fighter until tonight. It was awesome! I was expecting
the fight sequences to be just okay since this is such an old movie
but I was pleasantly surprised. The pole fighting sequences are
really awesome! They almost rival Jet Li's pole fighting sequences
in the Once
Upon a Time in China series as well as The
New Legend of Shaolin. Furthermore, the main female character
in this movie kicks ass!

When I was younger, my favorite thing to do on the weekends was to stay at home and watch Black Belt Theater. I think it was on Channel 5 or perhaps it was Channel 11. No matter, I loved it. I never missed it. One time I woke up late and missed the first 15 minutes of what was one of the best kung fu movies I have ever seen! I never got the title of the movie but that was okay because it would show again. NOT! Black Belt Theater was cancelled! Arghh!! Anyway, after all these years, I found out the title of this mystery movie, and what is even better is that I now have it on DVD!
Invincible
Shaolin stars ALL of the Five
Deadly Venoms (actually, there are six but one was not officially
a "venom") and is one of my favorite movies. The training
sequences are awesome as well as the martial arts (for back in the
day). The movie is about three Northern Shaolin teachers who accidentally
kill these three Southern Shaolin teachers. The Southern Shaolin
school sends three students to avenge the dead ones and are subsequently
killed as well. Then the three best Southern students go through
extensive training in order to defeat the Northerners. You really
need to buy this movie and relive the days of Black Belt Theater!

Just
finished watching The
Devil's Backbone directed by Guillermo del Toro (Blade 2). What
a great movie! I thought it was going to be a horror flick but it
was actually a drama/thriller with a great story and nice character
development. It just happens to have a few ghosts in it. Definitely
worth a viewing. A couple of scenes even made me jump out of my
seat.
On another note, I bought myself a karaoke system today. Got a Vocopro DA2200Pro mixer and a Vocopro VHF77 Dual Rechargeable Wireless Microphone set. Can't beat singing N'Sync and Bee Gees songs in nothing but a pair of boxers from the comfort of your own

Amelie
is an awesome flick. Totally, utterly, refreshingly, uniquely awesome.
The cinematography and color palette are excellent as well as the
main actor Audrey Tatou. The story is not what you expect and when
you think you know what to expect, you are still wrong.
I missed Amelie during it's theatrical run so I am stoked that the DVD is now available. I was not bored once during this movie even though I had to read subtitles the whole way through due to my poor understanding of French. The picture quality is superb; very clean and detailed transfer. The audio has some suprisingly good bass and surround action given the type of movie this is. This is a movie worth owning.

Ever
since I saw the trailer for The
Royal Tenenbaums, I have wanted to watch it. I crack up everytime
I see the scene where Gene Hackman is running across the street
with those two kids following him. Kristen saw it and said that
it was alright.
Anyway, I watched it last night and it was OK. It wasn't what I expected and that was what Kristen said after she saw it in the theaters. She did however say she liked it much more the second time around. It is a decent movie and I am sure I will like it more with repeated viewings...sort of like Pulp Fiction; the more you watch it, the more you like it. I still cracked up during that scene; it is just so frickin' funny!

I
know, I haven't updated in a while. Sorry, been busy with other
stuff and have neglected you fools. Speaking of neglected, Jimmy
Neutron-Boy Genius was neglected by the general movie-going
audience. I don't understand why; it is a great little flick with
kickass animation and sound.
Jimmy
Neutron-Boy Genius has a lot of funny moments for kids and adults.
It reminds me of Toy
Story and Toy
Story 2 (which is a perfect movie), except it is not quite as
refined as the Pixar flicks. Still, it is definitely worth a rental.
In fact, I will be purchasing it because I liked it that much! Give
it a chance!
